Highways Agency release 2 IAN’s for data and handover

Taken from linkedin author David Owens

Happy new year everyone, if you work on highways or supply to the sector please be aware of 2 new draft standards released by the HA at the end of 2014

Highways Agency Data & CAD Standard
Instructions on naming conventions, file types and data structures for the delivery and transfer of CAD / BIM files to the Highways Agency and its supply chain.

Enabling Handover into Operation and Maintenance

Both these come at the same time as the HA BIM Portal, where supplier ‘Originator’ codes will be published and project PIN numbers can be found.
A HA EIR is under review and due for publication at the end of spring.
With Level 2 BIM written in to the statutes of the 6.37€b CDF frame work, BIM is looking ready for Highways England!
