Real World Examples of The Internet of Things

This was brought to me attention by my colleague Simon Johns (Since68) via twitter. The internet of things is a phrase I only heard for the first time this December at the Autodesk University Keynote speech. (Now available on AU Virtual). As mentioned by Chris Anderson of Wired, Geekdad and DIYdrones.
The concepts of turning bits into atoms where we take direct control of devices and re-engineer consumer products to get them to do the things we, the consumer, want them to do. Rather than what the manufacturers wanted us to do with them. How many of you can get bluetooth to actually work and do with it what you actually wanted to?
Expect to see more posts from me on this exciting topic.

11:41 – Another addition via twitter and thanks to Shane Burger for that one.

About Shaun Farrell

I have been involved in the construction sector since 1986 and over the years I have seen things change dramatically. Much of the change has been directly as a result of technology. This blog will be about the key combinations of People, Process and Technology. Any views expressed here are strictly my own.
